VICE PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE - BLAKE WALDOCK
Welcome to our November edition of the ACS WA newsletter.
I’d like to start by congratulating all our WA members who received awards at the WA/SA Awards night, held in the last weekend of October in Adelaide.
10 of our WA members took home a total of 20 awards. Well done!
Special mention to our Gold winning entrants; Mahmudul Raz, Justin Griffiths, Denson Baker and new member, Elliot Nieves. Their gold winning submissions now go into the pool of entries for National Awards to be judged next year.
In September we held our Branch General Meeting. I would like to thank the 22/23 committee for the work we had done since the previous AGM in November.
A large portion of that committee elected to renominate for 23/24, and am delighted to welcome some new faces too.

RECAP: SHIFTING FOCUS: WIFT x ACS INCLUSIVITY DISCUSSION
At the beginning of October an ACS x WIFT event was held to facilitate a discussion based around the 'A Wider Lens Report' which was released mid 2021
We didn't take any BTS photos of the event as we want to to remain a safe space for women, men and non-binary folk to gather and speak about issues regarding inclusivity however the night went well and a lot of healthy discussions were had according to those in attendance.
Amongst chats with the ACS committee and from feedback given after the event, we are hoping to hold this discussion quarterly starting in the new year to make sure we can help facilitate the inclusivity chat moving forward and create a safe atmosphere where women and non binary folk in the camera department feel safe to partake in such discussions. If you would like to know more please email the committee
