Accepting the awards for absent SA branch winners were SA Committee members; Ernie Clark ACS, JoAnne Bouzianis-Sellick and Mylene Ludgate.
WA local sponsor Sandbox compiled some very amusing and humble acceptance speeches to camera from the absentee gold winners, which made it feel like they were there in spirit.
The event was also attended by Sponsor representatives of Screenwest, ARRI, Sony, Lemac, Sandbox, Vizcom, WA Screen Academy ECU, Location Equipment, Johnny Ma's Studio, Rosco, HD Rentals and Boogie Monster.
The food and beverages flowed into the night. The evening concluded with some really fabulous sponsor prizes. Big thanks to the committee for rallying around and pulling this wonderful evening together and opening the ACS awards season off to a bang.
Simon Akkerman ACS concludes
"I would personally like to thank all our ACS WA members, national and local sponsors for their immense support making the 36th annual WA SA state awards a total success. I wish all our Gold winners all the best at the National awards early next year. As a Cinematographer for the past 44 years myself, I can not stress enough that without a cinematographer the Screen Industry would simply not exist. You are, we are, the screen industry. Never forget that. Enjoy the recovery and your well-deserved awards."
