On The Applebox With Dylan River

ACS Victoria is holding an On The Applebox with cinematographer, director, and filmmaker, Dylan River.

Dylan River is a filmmaker from Alice Springs whose work has screened at Berlin Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival, Venice Film Festival and at Melbourne's own MIFF 'The Australian Dream' won the audience award for Best Documentary

We'll be chatting to Dylan about his career and some of his latest projects. This will be an open Q and A event hosted by ACS Victoria committee member Vanessa Cox.

In 2013 Dylan's debut documentary Buckskin won Foxtel Documentary Prize at the 60th annual Sydney Film Festival.

His first short film Nulla Nulla was selected for the Berlin Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival and won the 2015 AACTA Award.

In 2017 he worked as second unit director and cinematographer on Sweet Country which world premiered at the Venice Film festival, picking up the special jury prize.

In 2018 Dylan completed his second documentary Finke: There and Back Narrated by Eric Bana and his most recent project Robbie Hood is a 6 x 10min series for SBS. It is a retelling of the famous folk tale set in his home town of Alice Springs and won the 2019 AACTA award for best online series.

Last year Dylan worked as cinematographer for SBS/NITV 6 x half hour The Beach followed by Mystery Road season 2.

Join RED for a Behind the Look conversation with Australian DP Kate Milwright, ACS.

Milwright is an award-winning cinematographer working across feature films, short films, television series, commercials and more. Katie's pedigree spans across an array of productions including her most recent work in setting up the dramatic and inaugural Australian production 'Tidelands' on Netflix, and the rave review comedy for Foxtel’s drama series 'Upright'. We will talk to Katie about her diverse background, her inspirational mentors and partnering with the right directors.
