ACS Victoria Presents

ACS Victoria is pleased to bring to your attention two new intensive practical courses from our sponsor ShotClass!
May 15th - 19th: Steadicam Masterclass
Join ShotClass for a specialised full 5 day masterclass to train you in the skills required to be a professional Steadicam operator or assistant.

Led by one of Australia’s foremost Steadicam Operators, ACS member Louis Puli SOC, who is renowned as one of the best instructors and practitioners.  Louis will be supported by 2 – 3 other professional Steadicam operators to teach you all the tricks. Class size is small and there is plenty of gear and rigs so you will be kept busy every minute: learning, experimenting, practising and finessing. The 5 day course will cover everything from building and balancing to operating in different modes, configurations and scenarios. This course will demonstrate all you need to know to work with Steadicam and similar rigs, either as an operator or camera assistant. Supported by a camera and gripping crew and utilising various types of camera supports and vehicles, we will recreate a very realistic set-like environment. Meals and drinks are provided each day – and you’ll even get a complimentary T-Shirt on completion.

Applications are not required for this masterclass. Places are limited to 12 and it is first come, first served, so don’t delay.

May 27th: Remote and Geared Heads - One-day intensive
Have you ever wished you could ‘jump’ on the wheels and execute an incredible camera move using state of the art technology?

Do you want to be able to accurately frame shots with precision and repeat the move over and over again reliably? To have complete control of the camera move with no unwanted corrections or lag from a joystick? This is your golden opportunity!

Learn from highly experienced wheels camera operators during an intensive one day class that will cover all you need to know before you get started practising for perfection. Once you have picked up the gift of wheels operating, you will wonder how you ever did without it. You will confidently choose to shoot the scene on the wheels, knowing it will get the most professional result. Operating the wheels has become somewhat a lost art form over recent years in Australia, and those who can do it are in demand. That could be you.
