ACS VICTORIA PRESENTS

2022 Victorian and Tasmanian Annual Awards for Cinematography

Saturday 12th November 6.00pm

Conversation Quarter at the State Library of Victoria
Bookings Now Open!
Once again it's time for the highlight of our year at ACS - the Awards. Our in-person awards nights are returning with a bang this year at a new venue - the stunning Conversation Quarter at the State Library of Victoria. Come along for a great night and see some of the year's best cinematography from Victoria and Tasmania created by you - our members.
All guests will receive gourmet food platter service and premium drink service, with a range of quality wines, beers, ciders and soft drinks available. Dress code is "smart". The ACS Awards are one of the industry's great social and networking events.
Scroll down to book and reserve your place!
Our MC this year will be the talented Victorian comedian Annie Louey. Annie is known for her blunt delivery but also the kind of mischievous charm that means she usually gets away with it. Annie has been featured on Channel 10’s The Project, ABC’s China Tonight, Channel 31’s Rediscover Victoria and has worked as a writer on the ABC's Rosehaven.
Our Guest of Honour will be legendary actress and speaking circuit favourite Kerry Armstrong. Her illustrious career spans theatre, television and film, with Kerry historically winning two AACTA awards in the same year - for her performance as Heather Jelly in ABC original TV series Seachange and for the role of Sonja in acclaimed feature film Lantana from director Ray Lawrence.

Kerry can next be seen in the NBCUniversal/Stan Australia series Joe vs Carole.

Victorian Member Spotlight

The Victorian ACS is looking for photos of our members working on their latest projects. Whether they be corporate, branded content, short film, broadcast, feature film, documentary - you name it, we want to see it and showcase it on our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram).

If you're interesting in taking part we will be making these posts monthly and we will put a call out on the 1st of each month for submissions. This is exclusively for ACS members - any Victorian member can submit their photo.

Please email us ONE photo and a ONE LINE description. Also include names and social media handles (for Instagram) if you have them.

Recap: Sony FR7 demo event

Although some members stayed away due to the wild weather we still had a good turnout for our Sony FR7 demo event hosted by Lemac. Heath McKinley from Sony Australia gave a presentation on their new Cinema Line PTZ camera and then members had the opportunity to get hands-on with the gear. Thanks Heath and thanks Loch and the rest of the team at Lemac!

Recap: Girl at the Window Q&A Screening

We had a great turnout for our Girl at the Window Q&A Screening in September.

Big thanks to DOP Garry Richards and Director Mark Hartley for taking the time to share their stories and experiences with us. Thanks to the wonderful Backlot Studios for hosting the event, thanks to Kismet Films and of course thanks to all of our attendees!

See you all at the next event!
