Come along to this Pre-release screening of ACS Gold Award Winning Feature film, Burden, shot by Jeremy Rouse ACS.

Please join us for a screening of Burden this Tuesday Night, March 5th at Backlot Studios. 6:30pm Doors for a 7:00pm Start.

Burden premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and won the U.S. Dramatic Audience Award. It is the story of a man steadily rising through the ranks of the Ku Klux Klan in South Caroline. In 1996 he begins to question his racist beliefs after falling in love with a progressive single mother. He tries to break free of the Klan, with the help of an African-American pastor, but the KKK leaders refuse to let him go quietly.

Bio:
Jeremy Rouse ACS is a multi-award-winning cinematographer. Most recently Jeremy completed the feature film Burden (dir. Andrew Heckler, 2017).

Jeremy has shot award-winning shorts, commercials and music videos.

His short film credits include Tough & Cookie (wr/dir. Madeleine S. Parker, 2015), Florence Has Left the Building (wr/dir. Mirrah Foulkes, 2014), Sam’s Gold (wr/dir. Julietta Boscolo, 2012) and Lois (wr/dir. Alexandra Schepisi, 2011) starring Jacki Weaver, which screened at MIFF in 2011.

Other credits include Spider Walk (dir. Raphael Sammut, 2011), Eli the Invincible (dir. Miranda Nation, 2011), for which Jeremy won a Bronze ACS Award and One Night (dir. Alexandra Schepisi, 2009), which earned him a Silver ACS Award.

Further ACS winning shorts include The Pistachio Effect (ACS Bronze, dir. Nick Ball and Gus Johnstone, 2009) and Buses and Trains (ACS Silver, dir. Christopher Frey, 2008). Jeremy is currently shooting the feature film Emperor (2019) for director Mark Amin.
