Film Victoria and Greenside Productions | Business Skills Workshop | May 19th 2018

Film Victoria is pleased to be supporting Greenside Productions in presenting a business skills workshop for emerging and professional screen technicians, to be presented by Monica Davidson of Creative Plus Business.
This one day workshop will take place on Saturday 19 May at Docklands Studios.

This will be an excellent opportunity for screen professionals to learn about business planning, goal setting, money management, marketing your skills and other practical tips on how to run a successful business in the screen industry. It’s a must for anyone concerned about their ongoing career and business sustainability.

This one day workshop is open to anyone currently working, or considering working, as a freelancer in the creative industries.

CLIPPED Music Video Festival

As the foremost music video event in Australia, CLIPPED Music Video Festival is proud to announce that submissions for its annual music video competition are now open. The CLIPPED music video competition aims to showcase and reward Australia and New Zealand’s best music video talent, awarding prizes in a broad range of categories. All record labels, musicians and filmmakers are encouraged to enter their videos for a chance to win prizes worth up to $17,000.

Alongside the competition, this one day event includes a music video exhibition; which provides a unique platform for category finalists, as well as other music video makers. CLIPPED will also host expert panels, premieres and award screenings, engaging with everyone from music video fans to professionals.

The competition is initially judged online by a selection of industry leaders from all parts of the music video realm. Shortlisting themselves give the artists access to global and local networks, before live judging will bring a range of expertise, and provide invaluable feedback on work and analysis. The online judges for this year include

The Top 22 videos from the online judging will be shortlisted, showcased and judged live at the awards ceremony at CLIPPED, with a further 28 Australian clips (Top 50) selected for the exhibition.

There is a range of categories that are awarded to celebrate the many contributions by Australian and New Zealand's filmmakers and artists make that this art form. Some past winners have included The Jezabels’ 'My Love Is My Disease' for Best Music Video and RUFUS’s ‘You Were Right’ for Best Cinematography.

SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN:
Only music videos released or to be released after January 2017 are eligible for consideration. CLIPPED is also looking for submissions or applications to premiere new music videos live at the event. Entries from Australia and overseas are welcome as there are plenty of showcase opportunities.

PRIZES:
