ACS Victoria AGM.

It’s that time of year again.

You are invited to the 2017 Victorian ACS Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on the 1st of August, 2017 at Backlot Studios.

The formal procedure at the AGM is that current committee stands down and a new committee is then elected.

Warwick Field ACS has stepped down from the President's role and Alan Cole ACS has been appointed as interim President. Alan is not intending to stand for re-election.

Thus, we will be electing a new President to take the reins and continuing the outstanding work that has made the ACS Vic branch what it is today.

Although it may seem like a huge undertaking to fill the role of our past Presidents, we do have a succession plan in place to help you transition into the new role. The dedicated experienced committee are also here for your support.

This is a very rewarding role and a role that will help to see us continue to push forward with your voice and remain to educate, support and add value to the ever-growing membership.

I urge you to please consider the role of President. If you feel you’re interested and seek advice please contact either:

Warwick or Alan to discuss.

EMO - The Musical Screening with Q&A Ellery Ryan ACS & Sky Davies

Come along on Tuesday, August 1st at Backlot to see the highly acclaimed feature EMO - The musical followed by a Q & A with Ellery Ryan ACS and Sky Davies.

ACS Victoria is pleased to announce we will be screening EMO from a DCP at Backlot Studios. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the film's award-winning cinematographers, Ellery Ryan and Sky Davies.

SYNOPSIS: EMO the Musical is a feature length irreverent and satirical high school musical, released in Australia on 4 May 2017. The film is based on a 2014 Berlinale award-winning short.

e·mo [ i mṓ ] An entire subculture of people (usually angsty teens) with a fake personality.

Emo Ethan has just been expelled from private-school after attempting suicide in the courtyard.
On his first day at his new school – the dilapidated Seymour High – he meets Trinity, a totally naive but cute Christian girl who is desperate to convert him to Jesus.

But joining the Christian evangelists’ Hope Group is the last thing on Ethan’s mind. What he really wants is to join the school alternative rock band ‘Worst Day Ever’ and to be part of the Emo clique, led by the enigmatic and dangerous Bradley.

After a successful audition Ethan is welcomed into the Emo world and embraces his image – complete with black eye-liner and coupled up with a violently possessive girlfriend, Roz.

But Ethan can’t stop thinking about Trinity, who is herself stuck in a restrictive world of dogma and denial, and they secretly fall in love.

With the looming annual State School Rock Competition bringing tensions in the school to an all time high, and with the burgeoning turf war between the Hope Group and the Emos set to explode at any moment, Ethan is forced to confront the harebrained actions of his friends and question who he has become
