Cinematic Lighting Workshop with Brendan Lavelle, ACS at Open Channel // 26-27 July 2016

Work with a professional Director of Photography (DOP) and Gaffer to light and shoot dramatic film scenes in this industry-lead, hands-on workshop!

The art of cinematic lighting is to portray stories by manipulating light, and the way light falls on and interplays with elements in a scene, including sets and staging, actors and props.

In this practical two-day hands-on workshop you’ll learn to plan, light and shoot dramatic film scenes in a range of stylistic approaches.

This workshop, taught by leading industry Cinematographer BRENDAN LAVELLE ACS, provides a thorough insight into the craft of cinematic lighting and realising story through light and composition.

You will have access to a set, stand-in actors, professional digital cameras, a professional Gaffer and lighting van, and in small groups rig and light a studio-based day and night scene for maximum coverage and effect.
