ACS Victoria proudly presents the next "On The Apple Box - Conversations In Close Up" with highly awarded cinematographer Geoffrey Hall ACS
We are very pleased to have been able to grab Geoffrey for a fleeting moment to join us as he is in Melbourne filming next week.
Be sure to take advantage and come down to meet Geoff and engage in conversation about his amazing career and the wonderful work he has produced in the areas of Feature Films, TV, Music Video and TVC's. Geoffrey is one of Australia's most awarded and sought after DP's and these chances don't come along often.
About: On The Apple Box presented by ACS Victoria.
It is an informal chat on comfy chairs with guest cinematographers, directors, film makers as they discuss their careers. Numbers are limited to 25. ACS Members will gain free admission to these small group sessions which consist of a casual format where we will sit down and discuss all matters relating to cinematography with the guest. These evenings are mostly mid-week starting about 7.30pm for a couple of hours in a room at a pub or club where we can buy some delicious food with a beer, a glass of wine or a coffee to enjoy during the chat. The guest speaker may choose to show some scenes or projects they worked on as a talking point - examine in detail how they went about it, the approach, the execution and outcome of putting these images on the screen and open up the conversation to the room. You can expect informative and possibly amusing anecdotes and maybe even some behind-the-scenes secrets from which we can all learn. Participants are invited to ask questions, engage in the conversation and gain insight from the highly skilled and artistic guest DP's. The setting will be intimate and quiet with groups no more than 25 people. ACS Members will have priority free admission and we will also open up places to non-members for an admission fee.
Geoffrey Hall ACS
Geoffrey Hall ACS has earned a formidable reputation as one of Australias great cinematographers his work in all film genres, drama TVCs, documentary and music videos, earning accolades and awards both here in Australian and overseas. His work on the much lauded feature film Chopper launched an international career which has to date, seen Geoff filming in the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia. He has the ability to take a directors visual intentions and render them with a verve and clarity that is breathtaking. His images stay with you for years.
Apart from his stunning body of work shooting commercials for TV and cinema, Geoffrey is probably best know for his drama work on Feature Films and TV including as we mentioned Chopper (starring the then relatively unknown Eric Bana), The Missing, Dirty Deeds, Red Dog, Deadline Gallipoli. and soon to be realised Red Dog sequel Blue Dog

There are only 25 places available. WHEN: Wednesday 2nd March 2016. Meals available from 6pm. Eat first or during the conversation. We get started about 7.30pm.
WHERE: Acqua e Vino, 18a Ballarat St, Yarraville. They have great food and drinks available for purchase.
COST: ACS Members - Complimentary Admission (booking essential). Booking open for one day before general sales.
Students: $25 (Card must be produced at the venue)
General Admission: $35
