SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. If coming to the awards and enjoying the night with friends and winning awards isn't enough enticement, this year you also stand the chance of winning terrific door prizes from our sponsors including a major door prize from TT Lines and Federal Group: a return trip for two with your car on the new Spirit of Tasmania to Tassie and a nights accomodation at the luxury Henry Jones Art Hotel in Hobart and a night at the famous Saffire Resort at Coles Bay on the Freycinet Peninsula. The prize is worth thousands of dollars and everyone is in the draw. (Well, everyone who comes to the Awards that is). Now there's an incentive to get your tickets NOW.

The most prestigious event of our calendar year is the Awards for Cinematography. The 49th Annual ACS Victorian & Tasmania Awards for Cinematography will be held this year at The Pavilion, Victorian Arts Centre, Melbourne from 7pm on Saturday November 28th, 2015.

Be sure to book your seats quickly as the venue has limited capacity and this will be a night to remember, especially if you pick up an award. Every year we sell out and members who miss out are disappointed they left it too late to book.

This year sees the return of comedian and writer Lawrence Mooney as our Master of Ceremonies. This will be Lawrence's third time steering our ship and we look forward to having him back. Lawrence has been very busy since last we saw him with his TV program Dirty Laundry Live on ABC-TV as well as Agony and It's A Date. He is currently touring his brilliant comedy stand-up routine "Lawrence Mooney: Surely Not". There is no doubt he will have us all laughing most of the evening as always.

We are extremely pleased to announce our Guest Of Honour for 2015 is highly acclaimed director Kriv Stenders.
Kriv Stenders is one of Australia’s most renowned and respected film directors with numerous critically acclaimed and award winning shorts, documentaries, music videos, television commercials and feature films to his credit.

His feature films include THE ILLUSTRATED FAMILY DOCTOR (Official Selection Tribeca Film Festival), BLACKTOWN (Audience Award Winner Sydney Film Festival), BOXING DAY (Adelaide Film Festival Premiere and Jury Special Mention/ Best Actor Award at the Busan and Montreal Nouveu Cinema International Film festivals). Kriv’s fourth feature, LUCKY COUNTRY received two AFI nominations as well as being in Official Selection for the Adelaide, Cork, Montreal, Palm Springs and St Tropez Film Festivals.

His fifth feature, RED DOG, released by Roadshow in August 2011 has now earned over $22 million at the box office, making it the eighth highest grossing Australian film of all time. As of 2012, it became the highest selling Australian DVD of all time. RED DOG won both Best Director and Best Film at the 2011 IF Awards and the Best Film Award at the inaugural 2012 ACCTA Awards. Kriv latest movie KILL ME THREE TIMES stars Simon Pegg, Alice Braga, Teresa Palmer, Sullivan Stapleton and Bryan Brown. It was released theatrically by Magnolia Pictures in the U.S. in April and was released through eOne in Australia.

In 2015 Kriv directed for television THE PRINCIPAL, a four-part Television drama for SBS, starring Alex Dimitriades and Aden Young; the feature-length documentary, WHY ANZAC with Sam Neill for ABC TV; and HUNTERS for NBC Universal/SyFy Channel/Matchbox Pictures.

Kriv is now post-production on BLUE DOG, the follow-up to RED DOG, which is due for release in 2016.

Kriv also continues to work as a director on numerous award-winning television and online advertising campaigns both in Australia and the Asian region.
The ACS is very grateful Kriv is taking the time out of his busy schedule to attend our awards.
