"I Like To Move It" Nov 15 & 16

This year in conjunction with our prestigious 48th Annual ACS Vic/Tas Awards for Cinematography to be held on Saturday November 15th 2014, the ACS is staging a special event which will take place over the weekend of Nov 15 & 16 at Docklands Studios.

I LIKE TO MOVE IT is an expo designed to showcase the many ways we move, support and place motion picture cameras during the course of a production. As professional film makers, we are inundated with myriad options to achieve the shots we couldn’t in the past - from a Hi-Hat to a Helicopter and everything in between. The list is seemingly endless and the Australian Film and TV Industry is rich with excellent professional resources of equipment, providers and crew to make it all happen. It’s the perfect opportunity for grip services, specialised camera operators, aerial services, underwater services, tripod and head suppliers, tracking vehicles of all sorts, riggers, cable rigs etc to demonstrate their gear and specialities.

Our ACS Awards bring to Melbourne many eminent DP’s and film practitioners including Directors and Producers. The expo is being put on by the ACS and will allow free entry to any interested parties from the greater film and TV sector, not only those attending the ACS Awards.

Docklands Studios will be the venue for the event which will comprise a sound stage as well as outside areas to cater for larger and more energetic displays and demos. We expect good attendance and intend to have food trucks and coffee vans come along to make the day feel festive as well as educational and informative. It should make for a helluva crew shot. ACS will only allow exhibitors who are industry professionals and abide by the safe practices and legal codes of the Film and TV Industry and carry insurance.
