ACS Victoria Annual General Meeting is on August 8, 2014

Each year the Branches of the ACS hold their AGM at which time the Executive and General Committee of the Branch is elected.
This year we will be holding the AGM at 7pm, Friday August 8th. The venue is TBC but probably at Lemac Melbourne. ACS Vic will advise you by email ahead of the event.
If you are a paid up member of the ACS you are entitled to stand for a position in the committee. At the beginning of the AGM all positions are vacated by the incumbent committee and new positions will be elected. If you are a committee member or are wishing to join the committee this is your opportunity. The roles can be very rewarding but require a large effort on your part, and are unpaid.
Please carefully consider if you are able to contribute a substantial amount of time and effort to the ACS beforehand. If you have been a member this year and have found it difficult to attend meetings and contribute in other ways then it would be advisable not to stand for re-election. The positions are there for those who can be actively involved to a substantial degree.

UPCOMING EVENT: Shooting Episodic TV with Joanne Donahoe-Beckwith and Jaems Grant ACS

Join us at Backlot Studios next Tuesday July 15 at 7pm, when ACS Vic conducts an evening discussing the process for shooting Australian TV drama and comedy in today's TV landscape.

The discussion and screenings of segments will include the importance of pre-production, visualisation, story-telling and crew relationships as well as maintaining the highest quality throughout. The audience is invited to engage in the conversation.

ACS Victoria Andrew Lesnie ACS ASC Masterclass

This masterclass conducted on Sat June 28th was an incredible success. All attendees gained valuable advice and experience. As a testament to the popularity of our events, this sold out in 11 hours and we had many members requesting stand by places which unfortunately we could not provide.

We have uploaded both happy snaps and the participant videos from the Masterclass. Please visit the Victorian Branch webpage to find links to these images. For photos click on the Flikr icon on the right side of the webpage and for video click on Vimeo.

David Eggby ACS "Riddick" Q&A online

A few months back, David had the room at Backlot completely engaged as he spoke about shooting the film "Riddick" and about his career highlights.

We are selective as to which Q&As we put on Vimeo so attendance at events is the only way to be sure you can hear from the masters. David is so prepared to share his wisdom we felt it would be a failing not to let you revisit this fascinating and insightful evening.

ACS Victoria is happy to now share this Q&A on Vimeo. Please visit the Vic Webpage and click on the Vimeo icon on the right side of the page to go to our Vimeo page.
