"GALORE" Screening and Q&A with Stefan Duscio and Rhys Graham, Thursday April 17. BOOKINGS CLOSING - FINAL FEW SEATS REMAIN.

Join us when we screen the acclaimed debut feature film from director Rhys Graham, Galore. Cinematographer Stefan Duscio and Rhys Graham will be present to discuss the film in a Q&A session after the film. The screening will be from the release quality DCP.
"It's a sweltering summer before the final year of school and Billie and Laura share every secret except for Billie's biggest secret - she's crazy in love and sleeping with Laura's boyfriend, Danny. When Billie's social worker mum takes in Isaac, a troubled teenager looking to get his life straight, the delicate balance of the three friends' lives is disrupted. As bushfires threaten the edge of their suburbs and they immerse themselves in the swirl of parties, possible love and the intensity of sex and desire, the world of the four teenagers is changed forever as their secrets are revealed and their lives, friendships and loves are thrown into chaos.
Rhys Graham, who was born in Penang, Malaysia and raised in Canberra, has worked as a director and writer for over a decade. Rhys’ most recent directorial credits include the feature documentaries murundak: Songs of Freedom and Words from the City (both co-directed with Natasha Gadd), the latter of which was nominated for five AACTA awards. Rhys directed one chapter of the acclaimed omnibus film ‘The Turning’ which will have it’s international premiere at Berlinale 2014. Rhys is also the director of a number of short films and documentaries including Love This Time, for which he received a Panorama Special Jury Mention at the 2006 Berlinale, and Skin, which was awarded Best Documentary at the Worldwide Short Film Festival. Rhys has been involved in a number of moving picture installations that were exhibited at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and in the Asia Pacific Triennial among others and is co-editor of the book Short-Site, Recent Australian Short Film.
