The Victorian ACS AGM will be held this Wednesday at Lemac Melbourne.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
When: Wednesday July 31, starts 6.30pm SHARP. Doors open 6.15pm.
Where: Lemac Theatrette, Cnr Griffiths and Highett St Richmond VIC (enter from Highett St.)

All Executive and General positions of the committee of the Victorian Branch of the ACS will be vacated. A new committee will then be elected for the year 2013/14.

If you are a current committee member, we have valued your efforts throughout the year and hope you choose to nominate for a position again this year. If you are not a member of the committee and wish to join us please come along and put your hand up.

Positions on the committee are voluntary and unpaid and require varying amounts of work supporting the ongoing business and events of the ACS each year. Whilst we are very keen to have you on board, please ensure you will be able to contribute throughout the year before applying for the committee. The best committee is one which equitably shares the workload and it can be a very rewarding role. It is your opportunity to help steer the ACS into the future. Members with particular skills are especially sought to help, such as IT, Accounting, Graphic Design, Event Management.

In order to join the ACS Committee, you must be a financial member of the ACS at the time of the AGM. Any members who remain UNPAID or LAPSED members may not apply for a position nor vote.

AGM Special Guest is Darrell Martin, Cinematographer: "Shooting The Rehearsal". 18yrs+ ONLY

Immediately after the formalities of the AGM are complete, we will invite members to enjoy what is guaranteed to be an informative and entertaining presentation from Victorian ACS member, Darrell Martin. As a highly accomplished and awarded cinematographer in all fields of the Film and TV Industry, tonight Darrell will talk to us about shooting a TV Series. We have cheekily named it "Shooting The Rehearsal" (thanks for that David Williams).

Darrell will show excerpts from shows he has shot and discuss his processes.
Examples will be shown from projects such as Winners and Losers, Satisfaction and Mr and Mrs Murder. He will talk about how he sets up the style of a TV Series and how he maintains that look over the many shooting months that follow.

WARNING: Darrell will be showing some sex scenes from "Satisfaction" in order to discuss how they went about setting up and filming scenes like that for TV. This definitely 18+ and if you are uncomfortable with nudity on screen perhaps you should step outside during this segment.

About Darrell:
Darrell Martin started as a trainee cameraman at the ABC working on shows as diverse as COUNTDOWN and SEA CHANGE. Since working at "Aunty" during the eighties and nineties, Darrell has been a freelance cinematographer working on numerous TV Series that include SATISFACTION for the Showtime channel, the first 2 series of WINNERS AND LOSERS for the Seven Network and this year's Mr & Mrs MURDER for Network Ten.

IN ADDITION:
We are working at having some other informative bits and pieces, yet TBC. We may also have some important information for you about some new crew agreements which have been gaining some press recently and how they may impact on you and how you may act to be sure you get the best possible deal to sign.
