Virtual Production: A Conversation with Greig Fraser ACS ASC

The Australian Cinematographers Society Victoria branch in association with VicScreen and Nant Studios present an afternoon in conversation with Victoria's own Oscar-winning Director of Photography Greig Fraser ACS ASC. Greig will be joining us virtually via Zoom to discuss the use of Virtual Production. The event will be held at Federation Hall Cinema at the Victorian College of the Arts on Sunday August 13th at 12:30pm. Scroll down to reserve your place!
Greig was one of the key creatives in the early development of this technology and is an Emmy award winner for his work on “the Mandalorian, and a BAFTA and Academy award winning Director
of photography, for the feature film “Dune”.
This event is open to all crew, but specifically directed at DOPs and Production Designers interested in Volume Production. Greig will give great insight into what is required to work successfully in the VP space. We’ll also be joined by Greig’s VP Assistant Tamas Papps zooming in from Budapest to show examples of tests and work they have done together.
Snacks and drinks will be provided. Come along and up-skill by learning from Greig about this exciting and fast-growing technology.

On Tuesday September 5th the ACS Victoria branch will be holding its Annual Branch Meeting (formerly known as the AGM). Come along and say hi! If you want to join the general committee or nominate for an executive position this is the time and place to do so, but there's no obligation or expectation in that regard, and we expect most of you will be there for the special screening we've organised!
The meeting will take place at 7pm at the Sun Theatre in Yarraville, and will be followed at 7:30pm by a special screening of the fantastic documentary "Splice Here", shot by Victorian DOP and committee member Joanne Donahoe-Beckwith. "Splice Here" is a love letter to film, told through the eyes of documentarian and projectionist, Rob (Bert) Murphy. More details and booking form to follow in a future email.
