ACS TASMANIA PRESENTS

Combined Presentation with Q&A

'Getting the most from your kit'

Join local ACS members, Matthew Scott and Gerard Wood as they show some of their work and discuss techniques they've used to produce classy cinematography without spending big dollars!
ACS Tasmania Member - Matthew Scott

Matt Scott's presentation will concentrate on how to rig ‘toy’ (affordable) cameras for high-end production.  Matt will bring his own kit along, and screen examples of how he’s used it.  This presentation will lead into what Matt considers are the most important things a camera rig should be able to do, and on through workflow, post production and making sure you’re thinking about the grade when you’re shooting.

Below are some links to some of Matt’s recent work.  The Tourism Tas commercials are on high rotation on TV at the moment, so may already be familiar to you.

Gerard Wood working at the Big Tesla Battery in South Australia

In recent years Gerard Wood has done a lot of corporate work for clients who build wind farms.  Shooting time-lapses has become integral to his work.  Gerard has mastered the ability to produce some great time-lapse shots using cheap rigs.  He’ll screen some time-lapse sequences that have inspired him, plus some of his own excellent work.

Gerard will also bring a selection of equipment and demonstrate the ‘tips and tricks’ he’s picked up. This presentation will also discuss post production workflow on time-lapse cinematography.
