In an upcoming IF Magazine article Andy says -
'I feel naked without my camera. I’ve been shooting documentaries and current affairs stories in more than 100 countries for over thirty years, and I always hand carry my camera with a lens and batteries when I fly.
Most of my work is shot on a full frame camera with prime lenses, normally with my Arri Alexa Mini LF & Signature Primes or my Canon C500mkii & Canon cine-primes. I love the image quality and shallow depth-of-field that the combination of the large sensor and fast lens produce. My favourite focal length is a 50mm, but I always have a wide and a long prime handy.'

'I’ve been really lucky to have shot a few fantastic documentaries recently, some are still in production so it’s difficult to talk about them. One is natural history series which involves several long international trips, another is an established series for Netflix, plus a couple feature documentaries for Tourism Australia and Queensland Tourism. I also filmed Exposed - The Ghost Train Fire a documentary series for the ABC, and I worked on Shark Beach with Chris Hemsworth for Disney+ under DoP Jules O’Loughlan ACS ASC which was fantastic! Coming up I have shoots for CBS 60 Minutes (USA), network promo’s for Nine, plus another trip filming a cheese documentary series in the US and Europe.'
