Our annual Christmas drinks event at the Colonist Hotel on The Parade in Norwood is on Monday night Dec 13 starting from 6pm and is for financial ACS members only. There'll be some finger food and a few great door prizes, except hopefully not for perennial door prize winner Leona Cichon! Bookings are essential.
If you are not feeling well, have a sore throat, have a positive Covid-19 test, supposed to be self isolating, etc, please do not attend.
This is a really casual get together so BOOK NOW VIA THIS LINK and if you can't make it PLEASE cancel your booking or send me an email and I'll do it for you! Bookings close Friday Dec 10.

We had the Babyteeth screening & Q&A all ready to go on December 7 but the theatre cancelled on us waiting to hear what will be revealed on November 23rd relating to COVID-19 easing of restrictions. Hopefully we'll be able to still get it to happen so keep your fingers crossed.

An Apology
Dear ACS members and colleagues,
It was a great honour when I was asked to be your Guest of Honour at the recent 41st SA & WA ACS Awards for Cinematography held in Adelaide. This was an important and very special time for me to be with all my South Aussie friends after not being able to travel there for over two years.
As Guest of Honour I was asked to give a “brief” speech which I was happy to do as you know I’m a man of few words! So, I penned a speech, often self-deprecating, but from the heart, and as is my want, I drifted “off script” here and there recalling anecdotes from my past and went off in different tangents about my career, my schooldays and my involvement with the Society.
Anyway, suffice to say that during this off the cuff delivery, I spoke about my wonderful high school headmaster and mentioned his nickname which unfortunately was an inappropriate word! I immediately pointed out that it wasn't right calling someone that and said "I know that's inappropriate but that's what we did back then." Too late, I had said it!
I realise I made a mistake and I can assure you that it was not my intention to cause any harm or hurt, I am full of remorse and I apologise unreservedly for my error.
My recent experience is a timely reminder to us all about how circumspect we all need to be in choosing our words and/or actions very carefully so as not cause harm nor offence to anyone.
