Shooting for Effect Wrap up

Wow, well this was one of the better ACS nights!

It was the second presentation in the series, a reply to The Art and Craft of Cinematography in the "real world" presented, by the SA ACS branch, earlier this year.  This time a panel of talented VES members including Ian Cope, Alex Meddick and Tim Crosby covered topics such as:
  • Connecting the shoot to the VFX process
  • What information is really useful to the VFX artists
  • The  best methodology for testing lenses & cameras / chips & why to test them
  • How to collaborate with a visual effects supervisor
  • Technical and workflow optimisations for a great result and an efficient process
A few of the other VES experts also passed on their knowledge and opinions and in all the presentation was an in depth, educational and very informative night with plenty of great questions and equally great answers. Even all the pizzas and drinks were consumed!

We hope we can collaborate some more with the VES in the coming months and thank you to all the presenters and participants for a fantastic night.
