Lighting Focussed Event
Mercury CX & Cinema EGM

Lighting Technology & Masterclass
ACS SA are co-hosting a lighting focused trade event being held at Picture Hire.
 We have Tony Steele from Nanlite & Nanlux demonstrating and taking us through the latest LED technology for studio and on set lights.
Tony has a 30 year background in the film & photographic industry. Complimenting Tony, Gaffer Graeme Shelton will discuss his experiences on set with some of these lights. Product specials will be available to attendees on the evening.
This will be followed by local Gold Sponsor, Picture Hire Australia, Dai Cookes and Dave Gregan presenting an evening of tips and tricks for difficult lighting situations Cinematographers may face whilst out shooting. A few of the lighting setups will include:
- Lighting with strong midday sun
- Lighting wine bottles
- Minimising and exaggerating wrinkled/imperfect skin.
- Plus much more
This is aimed at beginner to intermediate skill levels but could be useful for all Cinematographers.
We will also have on display the ARRI Alexa Mini LF and new Cooke Panchro/I Classic Full frame lenses.

Mercury CX & Cinema
Extraordinary General Meeting
Don't forget that Mercury CX will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting at Mercury Cinema, Tuesday 13 September at 6PM.
The Mercury CX board have issued a request for all members, patrons, stakeholders and the wider industry to attend this pivotal meeting, where they will be outlining the outcome of their discussions with the Government and the subsequent future of this beloved cultural institution.
The board strongly urge everyone with an interest in supporting the continuation of Mercury CX and Mercury Cinema to attend this meeting. You do not need to be a current member to attend.
