Drones, Drones, Drones, July 7
Drones, Drones, Drones. Learn everything you want to know direct from CASA and industry experts. Presented by ACS SA branch and Picture Hire Australia. Drones are everywhere lately. It is a fast growing industry with a massive range of applications being developed almost daily. But most film/video/TV professionals are still very vague about how all this impacts on their daily work. Here's an opportunity to learn: What can drones do for you? What do you need to do to be legal? What are the insurance issues? How good are drones? What are the costs? Are drones easy to fly/crash? Where can you fly/not fly? How much can you do without a license? Where is training available? This is Adelaide's first comprehensive information session on the drone industry, so don't miss it. Speakers include: 1. Ernie Clark ACS, President of SA branch of the Australian Cinematographers Society - Ernie will describe his recent involvement with drones and put drones into context. 2. Dai Cookes, Owner of Picture Hire Australia - Dai, a licensed drone pilot, will discuss what Picture Hire have been doing and what services we will be offered to the industry. 3. Special Guest speaker: Werner Lushington, RPAS Inspector from Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) - Werner will speak about the current and upcoming rules for commercial drone flying. 4. Q and A session with Werner, Dai & Ernie - ask any question about drones you like. Several drones will be on display including dji Pantom, dji Inspire and dji S1000. There will also be a demo of gimbal stability using the Inspire hand held without propellors. When: Tuesday July 7 @ 1830 Where: Adelaide Studios Theatre (SAFC) Fullarton Road, Glenside RSVP via link below: Essential! This is a "No reservation - No entry" event. If your name is not on the RSVP list the security guards will not let you into the SAFC after hours.
