ARRI Amira night November 3
Picture Hire on Monday November 3 @ 6pm for 6:30 start for the ARRI Amira demo night. Stefan Sedlmeier the Managing Director of ARRI Australia will once again demonstrate to us all the functions of this latest model from ARRI. Data Management Night
On Monday, October 13 at ProAV Solutions 38 of us were told about some of the complexities of film insurance presented by Bruce Gayther from SA Bronze Sponsor Webster Hyde Heath Insurance Brokers, our local film insurance specialists. I was amazed how attentive everyone was and how many questions there were from our members. Mik Gojic, Q-Take Operator / Data Wrangler discussed his Qtake system which provides basic video split, playback, single track edits, live keying & compositing. The system also logs metadata via the SDI inputs and can be used to supplement camera sheets & script supervisor reports. Daniel Charlton discussed the differences of Hard Drives over LTO tapes (Cache A)
and also discussed some of the responsibilities of data management. Pointing out the differences between "cheap" hard drives and why bottlenecks occur. All in all a informative night and great to catch up with mates and have a beer, pizza and a chat afterwards.
