Tuesday April 1st

This is an opportunity NOT TO BE MISSED. Victorian ACS member, David Eggby ACS will present a screening and Q&A of 'Riddick', the masterful 3rd instalment of this action franchise which began with 'Pitch Black'.

This promises to be a great night as David shares his creative & technical expertise, with never before viewed behind-the-scenes photos, lighting plans and more. Whether you are an experienced or emerging DP, David's true passion for cinematography and his excellent ability to clearly explain his methods and processes in an entertaining and anecdotal way, will make this event one you should cancel everything else to attend. If you have been to a David Eggby session before you will know what we mean.

About David Eggby ACS:

David received the Cinematographer of the Year (2001) and the Golden Tripod from the Australian Cinematographers Society, both for his work on the film Pitch Black. Beginning his career as a photographer for the Royal Australian Navy, Eggby then moved on to work for Australian television production company Crawfords, working on such shows as Homicide and Matlock Police.

David was cinematographer on the low budget action film Mad Max (1979) directed by George Miller and produced by Byron Kennedy who went on to form the now famous Kennedy Miller collaboration. While filming Mad Max Eggby, often risking personal injury, would perch himself on the back of a speeding motorbike to achieve adrenaline pumping shots for this cult favourite.

David's films include:
Mad Max
Pitch Black
Dragon:The Bruce Lee story
Riddick
Ironclad
Scooby-Doo
The Marine
Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man
Daylight
Lightning Jack
Underdog
Eurotrip
Virus
Warlock
Fortress
Racing Stripes
………...to name just a few.

A taste of the evening can be seen on David's 'postcard' to the ACS while he was in production.

Found!

The other day I was walking my dog in Victoria Park near the old Grandstand and, would you believe it, I found a French Flag.

It is matte black, 39cm at it's widest point and 14cm deep. It has "French Flag Super 16 410-29" printed on it. That's it on the right.

If it's yours please contact me via the link below to arrange pick up.
