July 29 Sleight of Hand & A Place to Call Home Screenings & Q&A's

A frame from Sleight of Hand

RSVP's close COB this Friday July 26 for our double banger of screenings & Q&A's on Monday July 29 at the SAFC Adelaide Studios theatre. 1815 for a 1830 start. Might be worthwhile RSVP'ing sooner than later as we had to close our last event, the Sam Fox studio tour, early due to so many responding so quickly.

PLEASE NOTE:
Click the link below for a map for entry to the Theatre as it is VIA THE REAR of the SAFC.

2013 ACS Milli Award winner, Jo Rossiter ACS and Writer/Director Michael Cusack will screen a DCP of their highly awarded and beautifully shot, stop motion film Sleight Of Hand followed by a Q&A with both of them.

Then a break for a drink & pizza followed by a look at some stunning footage from the TV series A Place to Call Home shot by Queensland DoP John Stokes ACS on the Sony F65. This will be followed by a Q&A with this very talented, yet humble ACS & ASC Award winning cinematographer.

This promises to be an entertaining, inspirational and educational night so RSVP soon but make sure your dues are paid as we wouldn't want anyone to miss out due to being unfinancial. Non members $20 payable at the door but they must RSVP.

For security and catering reasons RSVP is essential by CoB July 26 via the link below. If you haven't RSVP'd by the due date, apologies, but you will not be allowed into the complex.

Thanks to SA branch Gold Sponsor - Kojo and Marty Pepper and also to the team at Anifex.

Wrap up - The Adventures of Sam Fox Studio Tour

Our Adventures of Sam Fox night quickly became fully subscribed. Sorry if you missed out, maybe you can come to our next event.

40 attended the night and Aaron did a great job running through his approach and choices for this demanding shoot which had already been filming for 90 days!

He ran us through green screen, the cave set, a hut set and the large house interior/garden exterior. He was very generous passing on info of his choices of gear, crew, lighting and some of his experiences and challenges on this demanding series. They shoot a television half hour in 3.2.days!

Talking about generous, many crew stayed behind to answer questions and to support Aaron so thank you to all. Special thanks to Gaffer Graeme Shelton and his team for lighting the sets, to Key grip John Smith who gave attendees a ride on his Panther dolly and Steadicam op Louis Pulli who demonstrated his rig and the rest of the camera team.

All this was topped off with some fine pizza and something to wash it down.
