This is a rare opportunity to hear Don talk about his extensive career as one of Australias most successful cinematographers with credits that include SAFC classics Money Movers, Breaker Morant and The Club alongside more recent titles Moulin Rough, Romeo & Juliet, Mrs Doubtfire, X-Men Wolverines and Mental to name just a few. The session will run just prior to the screening of Show Me The Magic, a film directed by Cathy Henkel and produced by Trish Lake, which captures an important part of Australias cinema history through the works of this legendary Cinematographer. NEWS committee rep still wanted!
We are still after a 'news' member on the committee. So if you are passionate about cinematography and would like to be involved and put the voice of news cammos forward, please contact Ernie Clark asap. We meet once a month, generally on the first Monday, for about 1 to 1.5 hours @ Anifex @ 1830 so please put your hand up and help make our branch of the ACS truly representative of all genres of cinematography.

We'd love to receive more Phone-tography pics so get out your smartphone and get clicking. Winners will be announced at 2013 AGM and we may post some entries throughout the year in our newsletters. Phone-tography T&C's: photos to be taken at work, on set, on location, photos related to filming, but the photos MUST be taken on a Phone and then submitted into our Phone-tography competition. It's not just about the image but could also be about the subject matter, the location, the people, the occasion. You could win a CASH PRIZE from a prize pool of $725. The photos must be submitted before the AGM in August 2013 and will be judged in 4 Categories (please title each entry): 1. Best composition 2. Most creative 3. Funniest photo 4. People's Choice (voting for Cat 4 will take place @ 2013 AGM) Criteria: 1. Entry is free and only open to SA branch ACS members 2. Photos must be taken on a Phone after 1/4/12 and submitted before 31/7/13 3. Photos to be taken "On the Job" i.e at work, on set, on location 4. Entrants agree by the act of entering the ACS SA branch Phonetography Competition that they give the ACS the right to publish the photos as they see fit 5.
