Sony F65 Demo Night

The Sony / ProAV Solutions Sony F65 night was at the SAFC, Adelaide Studios on Monday 12 December. This was held in the new theatre where some great footage from Sony's latest F65 Digital Cinema Camera was screened. Phil Nottle took us through a comprehensive powerpoint presentation on the cameras build and future updates.

Thanks to Warwick & Phil from Sony, and ProAV Solutions for inviting our members. Below are some links to check out more about the camera.

Alexa & Alexa Plus Demo Night

December has proven to be busy for the ACS. On Monday night, December 5, Stefan Sedlmeier presented the latest offerings from Arri to 33 of our members. He showed some great demo footage highlighting the cameras 120FPS capabilities and a complete technical run down on it.

Many thanks to Stefan, the guys at Stepney Studios for hosting the event and Darcy Sullivan for providing CineHire's Alexa and new lenses for all to play with.

KTD the Koala rides from Kampala to Capetown in 2012

Mark & KTD the koala

Recently quite a few ACS members got together to assist Geoffrey Reed to make a charity video to help promote Mark McNamara, a mild mannered school teacher from Mercedes College in Adelaide, who is taking a year off to ride his bike across Africa to raise money for Keep The Dream, a Limpopo based charity for Orphans. http://www.keepthedream196.com/

The mission was to create a video that would capture the attention of the world's media and launch a viral campaign via YouTube to help focus attention on Mark's epic charity ride across Africa.

Reedcomm came up with the idea of a traveling buddy for Mark in the form of a Koala who might pedal his own cycle on the back of Mark's rig. And so Katie Dee (KTD) the Koala was born. (KTD from Keep The Dream) With a generous donation of mechanical design and character sculptural services from Anifex Adelaide, KTD has now come to life for her epic tandem bike ride in 2012.

So many thanks to the team involved and various companies for supply gear, etc. The generous souls involved included:
Geoffrey Reed, Chantelle Reed, Phillip Easson - Reedcomm Communications. Michael Cusack, Richard Chataway ACS, Jo Rossiter, Greg Sweeney & Durand Greig, Jo Anne Bouzianis-Sellick - Anifex. Graeme Shelton - Lycanthrope Lighting, Dave Gregan, Kirsty Stark & Ernie Clark ACS. And thanks to gear / services suppliers: Dai Cookes & Liz Francis - Picture Hire, Darcy Sullivan - CineHire, Ian Linton - Psycholites, Daniel Charlton - ProAV Solutions, Richard Lanyon - Merlin Post & Quentin Ayres - Q the Music

Please visit Bike Africa web site for details of this unique solo cycling adventure across Africa. http://bikeafrica.net/Site/Home.html
