Message from the President

Hi everyone,

The 2020 QLD plaques are now available for collection from Lemac. Do speak to Tim Jordin before going in to collect your plaque, so that he knows when and can make sure it’s accessible even if he has stepped out. For those outside of S-E QLD, they are in the process of being mailed to you currently.

My warm thanks to Justin Hartwell who has been a key member of the ACS QLD social media team for three years and has recently stepped down. Justin’s wonderful enthusiasm and close attention to all matters social media was invaluable.

It’s great to see our memberships are increasing and I extend a warm welcome to all our new members. We aim to resume face to face events more frequently and look forward to meeting you there. Stay tuned for news. The committee are well on track organising the 2021 State Awards in November and certainly hope that we will be able to stage them face to face this year.

I recently finished up working full time at Griffith Film School, but expect to return and teach workshops there from time to time, which I very much look forward to. I will also step down as ACS QLD President at the next AGM mid-year, so we are looking for the next President now – please consider!

Production in Queensland is busy to say the least and COVID-19 is still with us, so we can presume nothing, but do everything we can to remain safe.

All the best,

Erika Addis
ACS QLD President

Camera Workforce Census 2021

Arri Signature Zoom Event Recap
Recently ACS QLD hosted a hands on event with the recently released Arri Signature Zooms. The event was held at the New Farm Park where members were able to play with the 45-135mm T2.8 and 65-300mm T2.8 plus a 1.7x extender paired with the Alexa Mini LF overlooking the beautiful park. We'd like to thank Arri Australia and Sean Dooley for hosting another fantastic event as well as our members to making the event such a success.
