Oppenheimer Premiere

Christopher Nolan's new biopic about Robert Oppenheimer opens in Brisbane on July 20. There will even be 70mm screenings at Palace James Street where they have Queensland's only operational 70mm projector. It's lensed, as always when Nolan uses the IMAX 65mm film format, by Hoyte van Hoytema. Many of you will know that we have a special connection to the IMAX format as the rolling loop was invented by Queensland engineer Ron Jones. Ron was awarded the 1969 Milli for his invention. There was an excellent article by Daryl Binning ACS in the last issue of Australian Cinematographer.
Universal Pictures have very kindly offered us ten free tickets to the Brisbane premiere at Reading Cinemas Newmarket.
The first ten replies to qld@cinematographer.org.au will be the lucky winners.
