NATIONAL ACS AWARDS - LAST CHANCE FOR TICKETS
The prestigious 48th National ACS Awards for Cinematography will be held this Saturday night, with ticket sales closing 6PM TODAY.

Great Lenses, Great Beer, Great Burgers, Great Night
On the 20th of March the ACS QLD Branch hosted a fantastic lens night that involved viewing and testing an array of different glass as well as catching up over beers and burgers. Soapbox Beer, established by our very own Luke Nixon, turned into a hub for camera enthusiast for the night. All levels of experience were represented from top cinematographers to student with 36 members and 20 non-members attending.
The event started out with people gathering down at the bar to have feed and enjoy an ale. As the excitement built everyone took their drinks upstairs to experience the main event: Lenses!
Many lens manufacturers were represented thanks to all the amazing Queensland camera houses. Lemac, Panavision, Gear Head, Cameraquip, Procam as well as local distributer C. R. Kennedy and some owner operators such as Mark Broadbent and Brendan Shambrook all gave their time and allowed the punters to view and test their lenses.
There was an extensive range of lenses available such as Cooke SF Anamorphics, Cooke Panchro/I, Primo V series, super speed Panatar anamorphics, Lomo Anamorphics and TLS/Cinescope Leica R to name a few. Arri Australia also came along bringing a set of their Signature Primes and Master Anamorphic.
A space was set up for our model Isobel Grosselholz to sit in, brilliantly lit by Mark Broadbent. Six cameras were focused on her for everyone to test lenses on. It was a pleasure so see the enthusiasm in the room as people chatted and discussed lenses. It was fantastic to see some directors get in on the action too.
Over all the night was a success leaving everyone satisfied with lenses, burgers and beers.
