2015 AWARDS TICKETS NOW ON SALE
It's that time of year again, where we all come together to celebrate the year that was in Cinematography!! Tickets for the Cutting Edge 2015 ACS Queensland Awards for Cinematography are now available for purchase. Judging has now concluded, and the standard of work submitted across 18 categories has been superb - with the judges having some very difficult decisions to make, as the work is such high standard across the board. Congratulations to all Qld Cinematographers, and the judges wish you all well. 2015 ACS QLD AWARDS Judges include: Mr Ron Johanson OAM ACS, Mr Ellery Ryan ACS, Mr Richard Chapell ACS, Mr Peter Collins ACS, Mr Stephen Cavenagh ACS and Ms Velinda Wardell ACS. The ACS Qld branch would very much like to thanks these judges for their valued time and expertise. Judging was held over a very big couple of days at the Griffith Film School cinema at Southbank, and the judges viewed all material submitted on both the Christie DLP cinema projection alongside several large OLED's - and many hours were spent assessing such a high standard of work across all the entrants. The branch would also like to acknowledge the continued support of The Griffith Film School, with Herman, Donna, Brett and the rest of the team who consistently provide us this fantastic facility for local events. This year we will be back in Brisbane, with the awards ceremony booked in for the 21st November at The Tivoli. This is the highlight of the ACS calendar year in Qld, so be sure to book your tickets soon and join your colleagues in what traditionally has become the one night of the year that we all get together and celebrate with our peers! Tables will be maximum 8 people, and we are offering a 15% off deal if you make a single booking for a full table of eight (8), conditions apply*. QLD SCREEN GUILDS' XMAS PARTY
The ACS Qld branch is closely working with the other Qld Screen Industry Guilds in hope to amalgamate industry professionals and promote a more supportive screen culture in Qld. In the first event of its kind, we have decided to hold a combined social event alongside our industry partners of the Qld Screen Editors Guild, the Australian Writers Guild and the Australian Screen Sound Guild. We hope this will grow to become an annual event, where we can network, meet and greet, and share stories with all Qld film professionals in a relaxed atmosphere. The last industry networking event held by the AWG alone attracted more than 100 people, so get your rsvps into the email address provided, and be sure to join us for a big night to celebrate the year that was with our colleagues from the other guilds in Qld. This is a public event, and will also be promoted by Screen Queensland, so places will fill very fast. Be sure to book the night into your calendars, and join us as we begin new exciting networking opportunities for all of you. Proof of guild membership is required. Guild members $5 door charge, Non Guild members $10.
