Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As the end of year fast approaches, I’m excited to announce that ACS NSW will be holding its December Drop-in face to face again this year at the Coal Loader in Waverton. Proudly sponsored by our friends at Arri, please join us on Thursday December 16th
from 6pm for a weather permitting outdoor event full of holiday cheer and familiar faces. This is an event for both our members and our valued sponsors so please register with the Eventbrite link in this newsletter.
Our Camera Workforce Census report is due out by the end of the year and we hope to release it to members over the holiday period. It will be a great basis for some of our initiatives for 2022 and provide some very interesting yet sobering reading. One point that is worth thinking about before we start a new year is how we as group, and often leaders of teams, can become more aware of discrimination in our workplaces. Our census revealed that many more members reported experiences of discrimination or bullying but not many people reported “seeing” them, which suggests we might not be as aware as we could be in regards what others are experiencing at work.
I also feel that 2022 could be a chance to offer up some more hands on training programs and master classes. I would like to extend an invitation to anyone who would like offer up some of their experience to other members in a training session or master class to get in touch. I would love to hear from you. It’s always great to pay it forward. email@example.com
The ACS website is well on its way to receiving a total overhaul, so we will soon be able to share some of the great webinars we have had over the past 2 years. Please check your contact details are up to date in the members section so your AC Magazine is being sent to the correct address.
The recording of our fabulous ACS NSW / ACT awards is now available “on demand” so if you missed the night please see our links below so you can catch up on the celebrations and some truly fantastic work.
A big thank you to all of the ACS NSW Committee for your continued hard work and dedication and to all our sponsors who have been so supportive of the ACS and its members.
I wish all our members and sponsors a very relaxing and happy holiday season and hope you all have time to catch up with friends or family.
All the best,
