Dear Friends and Colleagues,
What an amazing standard and variety of work was celebrated at our recent ACS NSW & ACT Branch Awards proudly presented in partnership with our NSW platinum sponsor Rotor Head and our Major National Sponsor Fujinon- Fujifilm.
Congratulations to all the entrants and winners. It was great to see so many of you on screen with our live crosses, so elegantly handled by our favourite MC, Ray Martin AM. Thank you Ray, you make it look so easy which I can assure you it’s not! The night would not have been such a success without the great contribution from all our judges , the NSW committee who worked so hard behind the scenes with Geoff Anderson and Tim Stackpool from Sonic Sight who hit their 30
thyear working on our awards which is just so appreciated. A big thanks to the team at ON AIR+ who did a great job with the livestream and showcasing all our wonderful sponsors.
Congratulations to all 6 of our newly accredited NSW members who were able to join us live in the studio, it was so great to celebrate their wonderful achievements.

Thank you to our Guest of Honour for the night, Valerie Taylor AM and her nephew Jono Heighes who presented the newly named Ron Taylor AM ACS and Valerie Taylor AM Wildlife and Nature Category. Congratulations to Andy Taylor ACS who was taken by surprise winning the Ross Wood Snr ACS Judges Award for Best Entry for his work on the documentary "Exposed - The Ghost Train Fire". Great work Andy.
Let’s hope next year we can all meet in person, and if our lockdown exit continues to go well, we are planning an end of year face to face celebration for our December Drop In.
For our November Drop In to be held this Thursday November 18
that 7pm, we are delighted to be joined by
Josh Flavell ACS discussing his career and recent award winning documentary “ A Fire Inside”. This will be a virtual event so please register with the link in this newsletter.
Our ACS Camera Workforce Census is reaching the final stages and I look forward to sharing the report findings due out at the end of the year.
That’s it from me this month. As we enter the home stretch of the year, please stay safe and look after each other on and off set.
All the best,
Carolyn
