Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Many thanks to all our members and sponsors who helped make our May events such a success. From the Sony/Lemac launch of the the new Venice 2 camera, to going behind the scenes using the Vortex 4 from Creamsource Lighting or absorbing yourself in a weekend of HDR with an impressive array of industry presenters.
ARRI Australia also hosted the launch of the brand new Alexa 35 that many of our members attended and were able to learn about some of its’ key features and impressive capabilities.
This month is also shaping up to be a busy one with the launch of the Sydney Film Festival this week and a fantastic Drop In on Thursday June 16th at 6pm that will showcase a double bill of our National Award winning members. Gold Tripod winner for his music video, Liam Brennan will be talking through the tech and the creative planning behind his one shot mind bending piece of work. We are also delighted to be joined by Pawel Achtel ACS who is the 2022 winner of the Bob Miller ACS Technical & Innovation Achievement Award. Straight off a Warner Bros set, Pawel will have his 65 million photosite 9 x7 camera there to demonstrate in person.
I would also like to encourage members to help out on any of our monthly Drop Ins or special events. We are a voluntary organisation so if you know you might have time to lend a hand please let me know so I can you include you in our email call outs. You don’t have to be on the committee to lend a hand.

The NSW ACS would like to welcome Ukranian filmmakers and cinematographers who have reached Australia to our members nights and drop-ins. Please contact ACS NSW or NSW Vice President Velinda Wardell ACS vwardell@cinematographer.net.au if you know someone who might wish to attend.
All the best,
Carolyn
