Congratulations to Eirini for her Best Documentary Short win at the IMDb Independent Shorts Award in LA.

Filmed in Queens, New York the film features Louie (KR.ONE) Gasparro. His love for graffiti was rekindled at the legendary 5Pointz graffiti mecca in Long Island City, New York. Louie reminisces about what 5Pointz means to him and to the wider graffiti art world.

Well deserved Eirini.

Supreme Sound Studios

Film technicians are mostly referred to as "freelance" film technicians but this hasn't always been the case. In the past nearly all local technicians were employed full time for one of a handful of Sydney production companies.

One of these companies was Supreme Films, originally Supreme Sound Studios, based in Paddington and it was the training ground for many of our current cinematographers, editors, directors and producers - Russell Boyd ACS ASC, Peter James ACS ASC and
David Gribble ACS
to name a few.
A rabbit warren of sound stages, editing rooms and production offices the studio has long since gone and a block of apartments now stands where it once was.

Director Les Luxford and a group of former employees and clients of Supreme Films have arranged to install a plaque on the apartment building that now stands on 12 Young St Paddington, the former site of Supreme Sound Studios. The body corporate has agreed, and the plaque has been prepared.

Ex staff and friends of Supreme Films are invited to the unveiling of the plaque commemorating this great studio which played an important role in the development of today's vibrant industry.

The unveiling ceremony will take place at 11:30am, Saturday 2nd June 2018 at the old lot at Young St Paddington. A suitable venue will be organized to have a drink and catch up with old friends afterwards.

Thank you to the Owners Committee at 11-15 Young St and the
Australian Cinema Pioneers Society
for their kind cooperation.
