August Drop In

Garry Phillips ACS

Our Guest at the August Drop In will be Garry Phillips ACS.

Garry's work of late includes the features "Burning Man" and "The Railway Man", for which he won the Milli Award - Cinematographer of the Year. His TV work includes "House of Hancock", "Old School", "Indian Summers", "Secret City" and "The Missing". However, he's recently been shooting the mini series "Picnic At Hanging Rock" and it's this project he'll be discussing with us on Thursday night.

The Picnic at Hanging Rock television miniseries is a reimagining of the novel by Joan Lindsay.
6 x 1 hr episodes starring Natalie Dormer, Samara Weaving, Lola Bessis.
Directors Larysa Kondracki, Michael Rymer and Amanda Brotchie.

Garry's interesting and relaxed manner proved him very popular when he was last our guest and I'm sure this will be the case again.

Russell Boyd ACS ASC photographed the original Peter Weir production of "Picnic At Hanging Rock" - I wonder if we'll be able to coax him into joining Garry?

So, make sure you get along to ACS HQ (address below) this Thursday 17th, doors open at 6pm and Garry's presentation will commence at 6:40pm or so.
