November Drop In
Our November Drop In will feature two guests, Angelo Boutsalis of Dragon Image and Susan Stitt ACS. Angelo will present the new RED cameras - RED WEAPON, RED RAVEN and RED SCARLET-W.
This is a great line up of cameras from RED and you will have a chance to get hands on with them all. Angelo will also have on hand a couple of the new LightPro fresnal LED lamps, the DN-30F and the DN-60F. He will also have the LightPro Nanguang 288s Flex LED - Bi Colour Flexible LED Panel Kit. These lamps are all portable and easy to set up and use - come along and see for yourself.
With an extensive background in TVCs and Feature Films, Susan Stitt's work, as both cinematographer and director/cinematographer, is of the highest standard and she has directed or photographed campaigns for the likes of Qantas, Calvin Klein, Marcs, Lexus, Honda, Toyota, Rexona, Olay, Remy Martin, Schwartzkopf and many more. She also has her foot firmly planted in the "food" world and photographs the wonderful
images that can be found on her very popular Susanstittfood.com website and others. Susan will screen some of her wonderful work and be happy to discuss with us the various aspects of her ongoing very successful career. Don't miss Thursday 17th November, at ACS HQ (address below), doors will be open from 6pm.
NSW/ACT Awards Dinner 2016
If you were not at the SMC ballroom on Saturday 5th November then you missed a great night, well attended by 200 plus members, sponsors and guests. The proceedings were delightfully MC'd by Renee Brack. Michael Caton, our guest of Honour, delivered his entertaining address, Ron Johanson OAM ACS (National President) presented accreditation certificates to Anthony Gardiner and Bonny Elliott, Life memberships to Mike Malloy ACS BSC and myself. Ron Johanson alongside Ron Windon ACS presented the Ron Windon ACS Award to Peter James ACS ASC. 85 Gold Silver and Bronze awards were presented to deserving members in over 18 diverse categories from CineKids to Feature films. Bonnie Elliott now Bonnie Elliott ACS received the Ross Wood SNR ACS judges award for her feature film "SPEAR". I would like to congratulate all the award recipients and thank everyone who contributed to yet another successful awards night. The awards dinner is a great way to mix with some of the society's well known and well respected cinematographers, so put it in your diary for November next year. David Lewis ACS

If you were the deserving recipient of an Award but were unable to collect it on the night then you can pick it up from ACS HQ on either Friday 18th or Friday 25th between 11am-1pm or email David Lewis to arrange a time for collection. Members awards media (hard drive, USB drives etc.) will also be available for collection at those times. Awards may also be collected at the November or December Drop Ins.
