December Drop In

In lieu of a guest speaker, a screening or a display of new equipment, our December Drop In will feature Members and Guests. Yes, it's Christmas so come along to HQ and enjoy the spirit of the season.

Date: Thursday the 17th at HQ (address below) and as usual doors will open from 6pm.

Our November Drop In was a big success with about 45 members and guests in attendance.
Thanks to Ben Allan ACS and Clinton Harn for their sound/cinematography presentation and thank you to Rode Microphones for the generous donation of door prizes.
Thanks also to Louie Eroglu ACS for his informative and very entertaining presentation of “The Killing Season”.

Running the evening were ACS NSW committee members Carolyn Constantine, Ashleigh Carter and Richard Wilmot - thank very much.

Congratulations John Seale

Following his recent success with Mad Max: Fury Road at the 2015 ACS NSW/ACT Awards for Cinematography NSW member John Seale AM ACS ASC has been honoured with the AACTA Award for Best Cinematography, Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Cinematography, the Boston Online Film Critics Association Award for Best Cinematography and the New York Film Critics Online Award for Best Cinematography.

Well done John.

CineKids

On a recent Sunday morning ACS HQ was the venue for another workshop for ACS CineKids.

Since its inception the CineKids initiative has been gathering pace and this second workshop was well attended by eight junior ACS members. After screening a selection their own work the CineKids were guided through some practical film making exercises by Anna Howard ACS and Richard Wilmot.
The CineKids crew were well equipped to perform their various tasks thanks to the very generous donation of a Sony XD Camera, Miller Tripod and Dedo Light Kit by CineKids sponsor VIDEOCRAFT. All participants enjoyed themselves and look forward to the next workshop.

Thanks to Anna Howard ACS, Richard Wilmot, David Lewis ACS, David Wakeley ACS, Marianne Wakeley, Lizz Vernon and Jacqueline Cosgrove all of whom gave freely of their time and energies on a Sunday morning.
