December Drop In
If youve never been to the ACS HQ the December Drop In would be a great time come along, have a look around and join us for Christmas drinks courtesy of our National President Ron Johanson ACS. Ron wont be there in person but will be in spirit - heres to your health Ron - thank you. As well as an end of year catch up with colleagues we will present another screening with Q&A. At the recent NSW/ACT Awards Velinda Wardell ACS won a Gold plaque in the Fictional Drama Shorts category for her work on Shift.
Shift is a ten minute short film about a discredited scientist who plans an elaborate heist to prove his genius and salvage his ruined reputation. Shot on Red Epic over a series of half days scattered over six months the film presented several challenges for the filmmakers. It was recently selected to screen in 4k as a finalist at the Shot On Red Festival at the historic Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. This month, Writer/ Director/ Production Designer James Croke will join Velinda to screen and discuss the film and show some of the methods behind the madness. As usual doors will be open from 6pm with Velindas screening kicking off at about 7pm. ACS HQ address is below.
