Resounding Success
The 2013 NSW/ACT Awards for Cinematography was a resounding success with over two hundred members, guests and sponsors attending. The Masonic Centre once again proved to be a popular venue, and the band Spank provided perfect background music for the night. Master of Ceremonies Ray Martin and Guest of Honour John Seale OAM ACS ASC presided over the presentation of Awards and both commented that the quality of work this year was outstanding - congratulations to all those who took home an Award. A highlight in any ACS members career is certainly accreditation and National President, Ron Johanson ACS, presented four recently accredited NSW members with their certificates and pins. Congratulations Mathew Allard ACS, Callan Green ACS, Marcus Hides ACS and Peter Holland ACS. Certificates were also presented to Richard Bailie-Maice ACS and Robb Shaw-Velzen who have recently been bestowed with LIfe Membership, congratulations. The Wall Of Can Do at ACS HQ reminds us all of the generous contributions made to the ACS by sponsors, state branches and individuals. Patron certificates were presented to recent substantial donors, Peter James ACS ASC and Pieter de Vries - thank you very much Peter & Pieter. Organizing an event like this is a big job and needs to be a team effort. Led by David Lewis ACS and David Wakeley ACS the NSW committee is to be congratulated on yet another successful Awards Dinner. ACS would also like to congratulate Sonic Sight's Geoff Anderson & Tim Stackpool for their 21st year providing the AV for ACS NSW/ACT and also Christine Johnson of Barbara & Greg Kay's Speakeasy Teleprompt who has, with autocue, supported our many speakers for many years. This highlight evening on the ACS calendar progressed smoothly, to schedule and a great night was had by all. A link to the list of Award winners is below and a link to Daniel Christies photos of the night will soon be available on the NSW webpage.
