ARRI Alexa - ACS HQ this week - A Reminder

Alexa - a very popular camera

Have you had an opportunity to work with one? Don't miss yet another "hands on" with the latest camera technology at the ACS HQ.

National sponsor ARRI Australia, out of the goodness of their heart, are giving the ACS an Alexa - how about that? Well, they're giving us one alright, not forever, but for a whole week.

The Alexa will be available at the HQ with accessories and a complement of lenses for the week of the 21st of November. It will be there to enable our members to get acquainted with this great piece of technology from ARRI.

So pick a day from 21st-25th November and come along to the HQ and have a play. Don't be shy - this is an opportunity for ALL members, young and not so young.

Also, on Friday 25th Nov at 6pm at HQ Stefan Sedlmeier an Franz Kraus of ARRI will give a short presentation regarding current and future Alexa models, features and releases and a Q&A will be encouraged.

Dragon Image BBQ

ACS NSW sponsor Dragon Image is putting on a "get together" and BBQ for ACS members. This will be a great evening and an opportunity for members to show their appreciation of Dragon Image sponsorship. See you on the 1st December at 6pm 22 Herbert St Artarmon.

AFTRS OPEN Camera Assistants Workshop (28 Nov - 2 Dec)

This hands-on practical workshop with AFTRS Cinematography lecturer and expert DOP Erika Addis is unique in Australia and was so popular earlier this year we're running it again. The course will teach you all you need to know about becoming a Camera Assistant in drama, documentary and commercials.

Content includes: On set duties and protocols - with practical experience, assembling digital and film cameras and accessories, data wrangling and digital workflow, film stock management, slating techniques, focus pulling basics and loading 35mm magazines.
