The Victorian/Tasmanian ACS Awards are coming. Are you in them?
It's just on 4 weeks till the Closing Date for entries into our Annual State Awards held in November. The entries have started rolling in but we know there are still plenty to come. Winning an award is a prestigious result for ACS members as the entries are judged by three acclaimed cinematographers. ACS Awards are a great thing to brag about. We all know how talented you are but does the world? Cinematographers who win Gold in their category are automatically entered into the National Awards next year so you can go for the Grand Slam! Get on to it and hunt out those DVD's, tapes, files, BluRays before you get a job last minute and can't find the time. Here's the How-To blurb again: For the 2011 awards, ACS members are able to enter the awards by filling an online form posted on the ACS website at this url: http://cinematographer.org.au/01_cms/details.asp?ID=546 Members are able to pay via Credit Card (paypal), direct debit EFT or by sending in a cheque. THE DEADLINE FOR AWARDS ENTRIES IS 1700HRS OCT 7 2011. This deadline includes the deadline for receiving the physical entry. Entrants can submit entries on the following formats: HDCAM, Digital Betacam, DVD, BluRay and Data* into the categories listed here: http://www.cinematographer.org.au/01_cms/details.asp?ID=442 Once an entrant fills in the online form they can follow the instructions emailed to them via their confirmation email to courier, mail or hand deliver physical entries, such as tapes, discs or USB drives to the address specified. Entrants should print and stick the labels emailed to them to the media and its container. For entrants who choose to upload their data entry to the ACS via the VIC/TAS dropbox, they can do so by uploading it to this url: http://dropbox.yousendit.com/VictorianACS, provided that the file is less than 500MB. If entering a data file please place your name and project name and the entry number in the confirmation email into the file name eg: yourname_entrytitle_entrynumber.mov.
