August Drop In

As Visual Effects, VFX, becomes used on an increasingly wide range of projects lines of communication between departments is not only important but in most cases essential.

Mark van den Bergen is a VFX artist with an extensive background as a VFX Supervisor and Compositing Supervisor. He will be our guest at the August Drop In.

Mark's passion for using new technologies to help achieve a director's creative goals has taken him around the world for work on TV commercials, music videos and feature films. His credits include: "Avatar" and George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road" and many other challenging projects including work as VFX Supervisor on large scale Chinese productions. He is currently is working on Virtual Reality projects and innovative mixed CGI/traditional film techniques.

Mark will discuss his work and his thoughts on why he believes the lines of communication are particularly important between VFX and the Cinematographer. He will take us through the various stages of production and discuss how VFX can best work with all departments in a meaningful and efficient way.

If you've been a little slow in keeping up with the latest in VFX technology this evening with Mark will certainly bring you up to speed.
