CONGRATULATIONS ERIKA ADDIS
I’m delighted to share some news with you all announcing that our very own Erika Addis will receive an Edna Ryan Award on Friday, 13th October 6 - 9 pm at Sydney Trades Hall, cnr Goulburn & Dixon Sts. Sydney.
The EDNAs were established in honour of Edna Ryan (1904–97) who worked towards making a better world, especially for women. She campaigned for equal pay throughout her lifetime.
The EDNAs are awards for women who have made a feminist difference, whose activity advances the status of women: the battlers and the unsung heroines who show commitment and determination.
The Review Panel is looking for evidence of the nominee’s achievements or actions that have improved the status of women, whether on a small or large scale.
Long service alone, or being well-known, is not enough for someone to receive an EDNA.
Nor do the EDNAs only recognise women who are successful in their field.
We accept ONE nomination only from each individual or organisation.
Erika commented: "I had the privilege and great pleasure of meeting and filming Edna Ryan several times, and remember her clearly, for her incisive intellect, clarity, warmth and generosity.The Awards are given to commemorate her life and and work, and I’m thrilled to be receiving one, for making a feminist difference in Media and Communications."
The EDNAs and Erika, I’m certain you agree, are a perfect fit.

The 2018 National Awards will be held in Queensland on Saturday, 5th May 2018 at Brisbane Customs House.
