The Great Camera Shootout 2011

Our next Thursday Drop In will be on the 16th June and due to popular demand the NSW ACS will hold a screening of the "The Great Camera Shootout 2011" by Zacuto Films. This will be an opportunity for those that missed the screening recently at the AFTRS.

To be evaluated and compared will be the ARRI Alexa, Sony F35, RED ONE MX, Sony PMW-F3, Panasonic AF-100, Weisscam HS2 Mk2, Phantom FLEX, Canon 5D MkII, Canon 1D MkIV, Canon 7D, Nikon D7000, Kodak 5219 and Kodak 5213.

Nikon DSLR range

The Zacuto Shootout will be followed by Andrew King from Nikon with a presentation of the video capabilities of their latest range of DSLRs. He will have a selection cameras and lenses and is keen to show us the low light performance of the equipment. This hands on demo should be of interest to us all.

Sprintcam Vvs

On the evening of Tuesday 28th of June at the ACS National Headquarters will be a presentation by representatives of iMovix of their Sprintcam Vvs system.

The SprintCam Vvs HD operates at frame rates from 25 to 2,700 fps in 1080i50 or from 25 to 5,800 fps in 720p60, and provides instant replay at native HD resolution and image quality. It uses the Phantom v641 high speed camera.

Should be another great night at the ACS National HQ - see you there on the 28th from 6:30 for a 7pm kick off.
