Go behind closed doors where youll discover hidden secrets and re live celebrated moments. Access restricted areas and experience the roar of the crowd as you take to the ground through the interactive players race. Step into living history as you explore the iconic scoreboard, and see where some of the worlds greatest musos have entertained sold-out crowds. It has seen a fair bit of filmmaking recently with The Water Diviner, Anzac Girls and Deadline Gallipoli shot in the area. John Leake OAM ACS Emerging Cinematographer Award
The ACS continues to reward new cinematography talents The Society invites young cinematographers to apply for the 2016 ACS John Leake OAM ACS Emerging Cinematographer Award. The Award was first presented in 2010 and provides a cash prize of $2,500 to an emerging cinematographer who is either currently studying cinematography at a tertiary institution, or working in the film industry, and is a current member of the ACS. The prize can be used for any educational, training, or professional work, which will further their skills and career. According to ACS National President Ron Johanson OAM ACS, This incentive has been a total success, fostering young cinematographers in the pursuit of their career goals. The ACS is proud to be part of this valuable program for the sixth consecutive year." Dale Alexander Bremner, recipient of the NFSA-ACS John Leake OAM ACS Award in 2013, said: Winning has given me authentic confidence, the foundation that drives all aspects of your life. Swimming in this Olympic-sized pool of talented Australian cinematographers, one needs all the drive they can find. Applications close on 30 March, 2016 ABOUT THE ACS JOHN LEAKE OAM ACS AWARD The Award is named in honour of the Australian Cinematographers Society co- founder and industry icon, John Leake OAM ACS (1927-2009). John began his cinematographic career as a 15-year-old with Movietone News in 1944 before moving on to Supreme Sound Studios. He served as both NSW President and Federal President of the ACS and was the Societys Official Historian until his passing. BOB MILLER ACS TECHNICAL & INNOVATION ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2016
NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR The Bob Miller Award, named after the inventor of the worlds first fluid action tripod head, Bob Eric Miller. The award is presented at the ACS Annual National Awards for Cinematography and comprises $1,000 in cash and a $2,000 Miller voucher enabling the recipient to purchase any Miller product at 40% discount off list price directly from Miller, with a valued list price of $3,333. In addition, Miller has donated an LP54 in a wooden case and a special Bob Miller Award plaque, which will reside in the ACS headquarters in North Sydney. The name of the award recipient will be engraved on the LP 54 Classic plaque, every year, in perpetuity. The recipient will also receive a framed, signed plaque to commemorate their win.
NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN AND CLOSE MARCH 10. Nominees must be financial ACS members who have contributed in the 24 months prior to the 2016 Awards by way of technical and/or innovative practical ideas that have helped the industry to advance. Established with the support of the Llewelyn family, the Queensland Branch and the National Executive, the Drew Llewelyn ACS Camerimage Scholarship, will enable one lucky ACS member to attend Camerimage in Poland this year, with an amount of $4000.00 towards flights and accommodation, along with other introductions within the Camerimage festival itself The Scholarship will be administered by the National ACS Board and will be in place for a 5-year period, which commenced in 2015. It will be open to financial FULL & ACTIVE members of the Society and will be decided by the Board after submitting a simple application explaining Why you want to travel to Camerimage and how you see it having long-term benefits for you.
