Jess Milne is a filmmaker, creative director and cinematographer.

Studying fine art and digital design (Griffith University, Queensland College of Art) has informed her practice imbuing an artistic aesthetic to her approach.

A career working with Cutting Edge, Defence, The Australian Communications and Media Authority and Mazda Australia (where she established the film unit) has seen her work on prestige commercial projects all across Australia and overseas.

In 2015, Jess co-founded TEN ALPHAS, a production company specialising in commercial content, across live action, design and animation, for clients like Google, Salesforce, Telstra and many more.

After completing her Masters in Screen Arts and Business in AFTRS, Jess has expanded to creating original content. She has also shot and directed a number of documentaries, short films and branded content. She shot the documentary The Art of Start-Up Perseverance and shot and directed 2019’s Off the Leash in Chiang Mai, a 48minute music documentary filmed in Thailand.

Also in 2019, the short film The Road to Vagator won Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best film in numerous film festivals around the world.

In 2022, Jess was Creative Director on the Screen NSW Screen ability backed short film, Blockhead and Sparkles which screened in Sydney Film Festival 2021 and Flickerfest 2022

Jess was also a filmmaker-in-residence at iAccelerate, at The University of Wollongong’s start-up incubator, and is proud to be a Director of Photography for Bus Stop Films.

She is available as a freelance cinematographer.
