Biography
Liam Somerville aka CAPITAL WASTE, is a Cinematographer and Video Artist from South Australia who specialises in image capture and image processing/manipulation. Recently he has worked on Corey Whites Roadmap to Paradise (ABC iView), Lucy + DIC (Webseries) and is shooting VIDEO NASTY (Closer Productions). As a DOP Liam shoots/directs many music videos including projects with West Thebarton, Abbey Howlett, SPACE BONG and Grenadiers. Meanwhile, Liam’s web cooking show Dumpster Delish, has won no awards and remains on the YouTube with a whopping 150 views per episode.
His video art spawns from a rainbow mash of obsolete video hardware and live generated VR animation. In 2016 Liam was selected to take part in MORPHOS, a digital dome/VR artist in residence program with Denver Arts + Technology in Colorado, showing his 360° work in Gates Planetarium, Denver and Ft Collins Museum of Discovery. In 2015 Liam was awarded The Independent Vision Award at the South Australian Screen Awards for his unique video manipulation techniques.
