Sissy Reyes is a Sydney-based Mexican-Australian cinematographer and editor. For the past 13 years, she has been living in Australia working in film, broadcast, documentary, corporate, and video art. Sissy is incredibly collaborative and hard-working, always focused on how to best tell the story at hand.
For her most recent work, Sissy has shot and edited various documentary features for SBS taking a creative lead in the visual storytelling process and closely collaborating with journalists and executive producers to deliver stories within tight deadlines. Sissy is currently a cinematographer and editor for SBS' flagship Current Affairs program, Dateline.
2018 Awarded the Drew Llewellyn ACS Scholarship to attend Camerimage in Poland.
2019 Finalist - Olive Cotton Award for Portraiture, for photographic excellence.
2022 Winner - The John Newfong Award for Indigenous Affairs Reporting, Kennedy Awards 2022.
