Biography

Chris is one of the most isolated Cinematographers in the world. Based in the small town of Alice Springs, the defacto capital of the Australian outback, his nearest city in any direction is 1500km distant. In 2020 the world's largest creative screen hub, Los Angeles' Stage32, called Chris “one of the most sought after drone cinematographers in the world”. But according to Chris: "you're only as good as your last gig"! He was a Triple-finalist in the ACS National Awards for Cinematography 2023 Sydney. Chris recently shared Cinematographer credits with Ben Nott ACS and Mark Broadbent ACS on the Universal pictures feature "Lee Kernaghan-Boy from the Bush". He has shot under the direction of film legend Werner Herzog and under ®Academy Award winner Russel Boyd ACS, ASC. He filmed all of the Australia vision for the Nathaniel Rateliff music video "Time Stands", shot on all 6 continents. Other aerial shoots include the 2 part finale of the U.S. 2020 season of "The Bachelor" for Warner Brothers, a global TV commercial for Tourism Australia "Hemsworth", BBC's "Seven Worlds-One Planet", "Wonders of the Monsoon" and the upcoming "Mammals” plus various other documentaries and TV commercials. His work also features in the National Museum of Australia's newly-opened permanent exhibition "Great Southern Land". As an "on the ground" DoP his latest work includes:

He has 8 ACS Gold awards and 5 silver, plus 27 wins for aerial cinematography in international festivals from 2020-2024. These include 4 awards from three different festivals in New York, and outright best cinematography awards in Tokyo, Seattle, Buenos Aires and Vienna. He has also been nominated in Los Angeles, Boston, Paris and many other cities.
